On December 5, the EAST CCI Christmas Meeting took place at the DLA Piper Law Firm, our esteemed member company and event host.
The atmosphere was warm as Marit Hiim Haugseth, the newly elected Chair of the Board of Directors, Senior Advisor at the Norwegian Fishermen’s Association, greeted everyone.
Hugo-A. B. Munthe-Kaas, a Partner at DLA Piper Law Firm, shared captivating insights and updates on Geopolitics, Human Rights, and Climate – Legal Trends for Norwegian Businesses in 2024, setting the stage for an insightful evening.
The Managing Director Hans-Olav Rekdal shared a quick rundown of EAST CCI’s key happenings in 2023, that included successful market visits to Turkiye, Croatia, Lithuania, and Estonia. He addressed the owners of the chamber, i.e. EAST CCI members, and expressed gratitude for their loyal and steadfast support towards the chamber’s vision and goals.
The evening’s main speech and discussion spotlight turned to the intervention “Endless War in Ukraine” by Morten Jentoft, a Norwegian journalist from NRK, captivating hearts and minds alike by his personal experience from the frontline. The intervention concluded the following words: Thank you – with hopes for peace.”
Rolf Fiskerstrand (Fiskerstrand Holding) received the Award of the Year for his outstanding contributions to the Norwegian maritime industry, a reward proudly presented by EAST CCI of Norway Chair, Marit Hiim Haugseth. The evening concluded with an informal networking session, after extending thanks to DLA Piper Law Firm for hosting the memorable event.
Adding a cultural flair, Rahvatants Oslos – Viikingid, a group of national Estonian dancers living in Oslo, graced the occasion with their performance.
