From August 22 to 24, 2023, AquaNor 2023 brought together a diverse group of participants from around the world, people related to the Aquaculture sector. During this event, EAST CCI had the opportunity to connect with Trond Karlsen, Sales Director Emerging Markets in ScaleAQ, who also serves as a member of our Board of Directors.
He shared exciting news about ScaleAQ’s latest achievements, the Vortex Subsea, and a new water-based feeding barge for Norcod.
VORTEX Subsea
One of the truly ground-breaking launches at Aqua Nor was a semi-submersible system Vortex, from ScaleAQ, which, by drawing large amounts of fresh water from the depths into the fish pens, ensures that the salmon have access to cold and oxygen-rich water, while at the same time keeping the sea lice larvae away with physical barriers. Vortex from ScaleAQ protects the fish and provides them with a better living environment.
Feed Barge F 98
Trond informed us that this innovative steel barge boasts a feeding capacity of 400 tons, providing remarkable flexibility for Norcod’s fish feeding practices. What sets it apart is its groundbreaking design that utilizes water transport to eliminate noise and improve the working environment. The collaboration between ScaleAQ and Norcod has flourished into a robust partnership, likened to a successful marriage, with promising prospects ahead.
